While I personally like a few closed species, I would never actually get one. I find some of them creative and others not close to it; ex. a dog that is made out of plastic. Not really creative at all if you ask me.
Another reason why I don't like closed species is because I feel like they limit creativity when making a character, like you can't have a dog oc made out water or food, a fat antho dog with a big curly tail without people think you're copying those species and then everyone attacks you for "copying" it.
Also I feel like some of the ones for sale are too expensive, yeah artist need to make money and I completely agree with that, but when someone pays $2,000 for some dog based off of soup and never draw it, it seems like a waste of money of you ask me.
But yeah that's just my opinion of them. Sometimes I really like them, while other times I don't. I try to stay neutral about the whole thing.
